Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) Passes Through FCC

The FCC has just approved the Samsung Galaxy 2 (10.1), bringing it closer to release. This model is the version that supports HSPA+ on bands II and V, meaning it’s compatible with AT&T, though no official U.S. release has been announced yet. The FCC also tested and approved the Galaxy Tab 2′s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios.

iPad mini to be closer in size to Samsung's Note?

Apple could be taking a cue from frenemy Samsung with its next iOS device, offering a gadget that's a bit larger than most cell phones, but about half the size of a According to Japanese Apple news site Apple's working with LCD suppliers to get a 5-inch panel with a pixel density high enough to be able to call it a Retina Display. That's according to "a reliable Chinese source," the site said.
That smaller device would arrive sometime next year, Macotakara suggested, and sport either a 1,600 by 960 pixel or 1,280 by 960 pixel resolution -- either of which would be a first for an iOS device.
This is just the latest in a series of reports claiming Apple's working on iOS device that falls somewhere between the and the Earlier this month, a report from the Korea Times cited an unnamed Samsung official saying Apple this year would be releasing an  That's as opposed to the current iPad's 9.7-inch display. Days before that, there was a report from VentureBeat saying Apple was eyeing instead.
Muddying up both these claims is the idea that these panels could actually end up being for a next-generation smartphone instead. A report from Reuters last week suggested as much, claiming that Apple was vying to pick up a slightly smaller 4.6-inch display  with screens larger than the 3.5-inch panel the iPhone's shipped with since its introduction.

Bipasha Basu set to launch second fitness DVD


Bipasha Basu Love Yourself DVD 200x269Actress Bipasha Basu, known for her fitness levels, will launch her second fitness DVD soon.
“I’m working on it and it will come out in July. I was supposed to shoot it a couple of months back, but I’ve been very busy. My schedules were really tight; so I pushed it back. I’ll film it as soon as possible,” Bipasha told IANS.
Her first DVD was titled ‘BB-Love Yourself’.
“The first one did fabulously. It is still selling like hot cakes. The second one is also going to tap that many people. It’ll be a completely different routine. It’s not going to be like the first one, which was a 60-day routine for weight loss,” said the actress, who will be seen in “Dum Maaro Dum”.

Mahesh Manjrekar gets chic makeover for ‘Ready’

Bollywood Filmmaker-actor Mahesh Manjrekar has been known for his casual and unkempt look in films so far. But he has got a makeover for the role of a sophisticated businessman in Anees Bazmee’s “Ready”.He will be seen in three-piece suits, vibrant ties and stylish glasses to suit his role in the movie, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Rajat Rawail.
After playing characters like a local don in “Slumdog Millionaire”, a corrupt cop in “Wanted” and an alcoholic in “Dabangg”, “Ready” seems like a different challenge for Manjrekar.
Salman Khan and Asin Thottumkal play lead roles in “Ready” that also features Paresh Rawal and Arya Babbar. It will release June 3.

Mugdha Godse turns vegetarian

Model-turned-actress Mugdha Godse has turned vegetarian and says she has given up meat because she has started practicing the art of Ashtang Yoga.
The 24-year-old once was a hard-core meat eater and indulged in delicious home-cooked non-vegetarian dishes almost everyday. But for Mugdha, health was always a priority, so she decided to give up meat for good, said a source.
The actress practices yoga every morning and makes sure that she sticks to this routine.
She made her Bollwyood debut with “Fashion” and then featured in “Jail”. Her upcoming release is “Will You Marry Me?” that also has Shreyas Talpade and Rajeev Khandelwal.

I have learnt to cope with media attention – Katrina Kaif

From her break-up with Salman Khan to her link-up with Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif’s personal life is constantly under the scanner. The British-born actress says the unrelenting attention does affect her sometimes but she has learnt to cope with the pressures.”We are human beings and sometimes it does affect us especially when so much is being said and written that doesn’t make sense. But one learns and I have also learnt to cope with it,” Katrina told IANS in an interview over the phone from Mumbai.
“I have learnt that media and celebrities go hand in hand and now I don’t feel the need to clarify my stance and I am not bothered. Audiences have also become mature and they also understand what is right and what is wrong,” added the 26-year-old.
The actress has no films scheduled for immediate release, but will be seen in a new LUX soap ad to promote its new range – Lux Fresh Splash.
This year, her first release will be in June with Zoya Akhtar’s “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, also starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Kalki Koechlin. After that she will be seen in “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan”.
Katrina was introduced into the Hindi film industry with “Boom” in 2003, but the first hit came only four years later with “Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya”. Her career zoomed with “Namastey London”, in which she teamed up with Akshay Kumar, released in the same year.
